This highly regarded multi-national has an excellent reputation and is involved in many key areas of infrastructure management and development. The company is ready now to take on board an accomplished Contract Manager for this newly created role in Canterbury.

This is a "start-up" role, so you'll need to be someone who can step up to the plate and understand what is required when developing "new territory". Primarily you'll be responsible to establish new business opportunities relating to civil engineering projects, particularly around roading projects in the Canterbury region.

This is not just about earthquake reinstatement, but for wider infrastructure development and maintenance, and the creation of new areas of business for this company. Your activities will be a mix of developing new relationships, development of existing relationships, and the enhancement of current activities in the Canterbury region.

You will require an engineering qualification, and if not a degree qualification, certainly NZCE or equivalent, preferably in civil. A pre-requisite for this role is a minimum of 5 years experience in project management, and ideally you'll have some experience in roading as well. You will also need to have experience in contracting and the requirements of NZS 3910. Very strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills are essential because as well as client relationship management, you will be responsible for building a team to support your commercial activities.
